lately been to pitstop one cafe, located at ss17. one look from the outside, i quickly concluded that it's just some cafe, like any other cafe. i went in with zero expectations, expecting the norm.
well, they proved me wrong. it's not like any other cafe. on the interior, the arrangements of tables and chairs are simple enough, however spacious. design wise, the lower half of the walls are painted to look like those red brick walls, upper half plainer with some flower pots on the shelves on the wall. just beside the counter, there's a whole cabinet/shelf of board games. they range from simple card games, to complicated time consuming board games like RISK! yeah they do have risk lol.
i have to admit though the board games available are really eye catching; various diverse choices and lots of never before seen board games. it does make you feel like a kid once again, temporarily though.
the menu prepared by them are real simple. just ignore the food from the main menu, look at the sets as all the foodstuff found in the menu are available in sets. a set would include a soup, drink, main course and dessert. prices range from rm13-rm20+ for a set. my order was cereal fish & chips it costs about rm19 for a set. i would say its decently priced for a cafe, or maybe slightly overpriced. students with student cards are entitled to a 10% discount. i'm not sure about the others but my portion tastes not bad. would give it a 4/5.
if its the food u're looking for, then it may be overpriced. what i'm really impressed by is their customer service. service is definitely 5/5. friendly staff, ever ready to assist in anything u request. take the board games as an example, if u're one of those that really cant decide on which game to choose or you're a total noob in board games (like me) they can give good recommendations and descriptions of the board games they have. it shows they really know their stuff. aside from that, once u've selected a board game and you're new to it; unsure about the rules and stuff.. the staff will also take his time to explain to you the rules of the game. definitely never had this sort of personal services before lol.
i'm sure we all did have a good time there. in all, pitstop one cafe is definitely worth the go; more so if you have a group of 5-8 bored people looking to have some fun and board games of course!
